Further details emerge on Crystal Palace’s transfer pursuit of Birmingham City player

Jordan James is still being discussed by Crystal Palace and Birmingham City; it was reported that the midfield player’s late bid was rejected in January.

The 19-year-old has made significant progress at Blues over the previous few seasons, but this year has seen him truly step up and become an important member of the squad.

James has begun to add an end product to his performance, as evidenced by his eighth goal of the season in yesterday’s 3-1 loss against Ipswich.

In addition, the adolescent is a true force in the middle of the park, which makes his all-around game exceptional.

It should come as no surprise, then, that there was a lot of conjecture in the most recent window over James’s future.

Atalanta reportedly made proposals to recruit James, but the two sides were unable to come to an agreement. Palace was one of the Premier League teams that was impressed with the adolescent.

Journalist Alan Nixon of The Sun has also revealed more information regarding Palace’s interest, confirming that the Londoners had a proposal rejected by Birmingham that would have sent James back to St. Andrew’s on loan for the remainder of the current campaign.

They are still interested in the guy, though, and he says the Eagles have sent scouts to recent Blues games to keep an eye on him.

They won’t, however, have a free pass to James, as Atalanta is still monitoring his circumstances.
