TWO outfield players – Ryan Barnett and Steven Fletcher – are back in training and closing in on a return to action.
wing-back Since suffering damage to his knee ligaments during the 2-1 victory over Sutton on October 24, Barnett has not participated in any games.
After suffering from a knee injury, Fletcher, a former Scottish international who moved to The Racecourse in September, needed surgery. On October 28, he made his final appearance as a late substitute in the 2-0 victory at Notts County.
Parkinson is happy to see both players back in the gym.

“It’s good to have them back on the training pitch, but we are just evaluating them to see how the week goes.
“The good news for Fletch is that he didn’t have a preseason when he joined us, so this injury has given the medical staff a chance to work on his fitness a lot.
“He has slotted back into training well in the first few days.”
Parkinson won’t give a timeline for the return of either player; the Welsh derby against Newport County on Saturday at The Racecourse is the first of four games in ten days during the holiday season.
