Human remains found in London river believed to be Sarah Mayhew

Police in London have stated that they suspect the human remains discovered in a river to be those of Sarah Mayhew, 38, who has been missing since March 8.

On Tuesday, May 21, remains were discovered in Mitcham, south-west London, by contractors doing cleaning work.
In the afternoon, a crime scene was set up at Rawnsley Avenue after Metropolitan Police officers were summoned there.

On April 2, a dog walker in Rowdown Fields in New Addington, Croydon, discovered the first human remains.

Her murder and obstructing a proper and legal burial are the charges brought against two individuals.
According to testimony given in court, the couple murdered Ms. Mayhew at a home.
On March 8th, in the evening, Ms. Mayhew was last observed in Sutton, a suburb of southwest London.

“My thoughts remain with Sarah’s family,” stated investigating detective inspector Martin Thorpe. We’re going to keep helping as long as our inquiry goes on.I anticipate that while my officers are doing critical work at the scene, they will be here for a while.Sarah knew the two individuals that were detained, and they were eventually accused of killing her. We are not currently searching for any further individuals related to her passing. There are still questions.
Officers with specific training have been notified and are providing support to the family of Ms. Mayhew, who is from Croydon.
