Police were called to Merseybank Road just after 12.25pm on Saturday (November 9) where it was reported a male had been stabbed in the arm.
Two males wearing all black clothes and balaclavas were reported to have ridden away from the scene on electric bikes onto Napier Road.
Their 15-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment to two stab wounds to his arm. His condition is described as stable.
Police attended the scene and enquiries are underway, with witnesses being spoken to and CCTV opportunities being explored.
Detective Inspector Paula Jones said: “Our enquires into this incident are in the very early stages, but based on what we know so far we do believe it was a targeted attack.
“Knife crime has absolutely no place on the streets of Wirral or anywhere in Merseyside, and our work to disrupt the activities of those who use, carry and store weapons goes on every single day of the year.
