Jamie Carragher bites back at Pep Guardiola after mocks Liverpool failure

During a stormy press conference on Tuesday, City manager Pep Guardiola insisted that his team will win the Premier League this season.

If City succeeds, they will be the first team to win four Premier League titles in a row.

It comes after City were chastised for their defensive performance in Sunday’s 3-3 draw with Tottenham.

After three consecutive draws with Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham, Gary Neville accused City of getting complacent.

Guardiola, on the other hand, slammed the analysts, claiming Carragher had no understanding how to win the Premier League.

‘Gary Neville understands how difficult it is; otherwise, he would have won four Premier Leagues during Manchester United’s best period,’ Guardiola added.

‘However, he did not do it. Perhaps they accuse us of complacency because they themselves were complacent (at United). Perhaps they sensed it. So far, this team has no chance.

Jamie Carragher did not won a single title. Micah Richards did not win the Premier League four years in a row. Never, ever, ever. It has never occurred.

To be honest, I don’t have much to say about the commentators. It’s not about that (laziness). Perhaps I’m mistaken, but I don’t believe it’s about complacency.’

Guardiola’s statements, however, infuriated Carragher, who responded by raising the 115 Premier League accusations brought against City.

‘I think I’d have won one if Liverpool had been owned by a nation state and we’d stretched the regulations so far that the Premier League charged us 115 times!!’ Carragher posted on Twitter.
