Kenneth Hearts transfer latest as Steven Naismith confirms talks’

The Costa Rica star’s dad revealed earlier this week that his son was happy in Gorgie

The Hearts are negotiating a contract to sign Kenneth Vargas long-term, as confirmed by Steven Naismith.

The father of the Costa Rican player disclosed earlier this week that his son, who had been playing on loan from his native Herediano, was closing the deal to transfer to Tynecastle. This summer, the Jambos have the opportunity to sign the 21-year-old for a six-figure sum, and Naismith is eager to do so.

Since coming to Gorgie this summer, Vargas has scored six goals, five of which have come in his last nine outings. The attacker recently received his first cap for his country, and according to Naismith, Hearts is the ideal place for the young player to reach his full potential.
It’s definitely something we want to achieve, Naisy stated to the Edinburgh Evening News. There is a basic understanding in place. It’s mainly about completing the transaction. People tend to overlook how young Kenneth is because of how well he has done.

“He hasn’t been a professional for all that long. He has settled here better than most and we think he can get better and develop more in future. We want to keep him because we see him as a good addition.”
