Kilmarnock star Danny Armstrong in Hearts transfer discussions over ‘long-term deal made decision

According to reports, Hearts and Danny Armstrong of Kilmarnock have begun negotiations for a pre-contract agreement.

Due to his refusal to sign a new contract, the Killie winger is well into his last season with the Rugby Park team.

Although he did not say whether it will be in January or the summer, manager Derek McInnes acknowledged that Armstrong would be leaving the team this year.

Now that his Kilmarnock contract is in its final six months, Armstrong is free to speak with other clubs.

The Edinburgh Evening News has recently disclosed that the Gorgie team is in transfer talks with Armstrong, despite Hearts boss Neil Critchley’s evasiveness on any interest in him.

Hearts enter into talks with Kilmarnock star Armstrong

According to their report, Hearts and Armstrong have discussed the possibility of signing a pre-contract agreement, with discussions focussing on a “long-term” contract.

According to reports, the two parties have not yet achieved an agreement, and it might take a few more weeks until a definitive agreement is made.

This is due to the fact that Armstrong, who was connected to Bolton Wanderers during the summer, is drawing interest from teams other than Hearts.

Armstrong’s career to date

The 27-year-old Armstrong joined Kilmarnock in 2021 when the club were set to embark on their 2021/22 Championship season.

He wasn’t a massive part of the league title-winning team but made a big impression the following campaign when Killie returned to the Premiership.

The wide man scored 12 goals in 47 games that season before helping Killie to a 4th-placed spot and European football last campaign with 9 goals in 47 games.

Armstrong started his professional career with Wolverhampton Wanderers before turning out for Dunfermline Athletic on loan, Raith Rovers twice and Ross County.
