A man in his 60s died in a major crash near Cirencester last week, according to an update from Gloucestershire police.
On Wednesday, February 5, just after 10.30 am, emergency personnel were dispatched to the A419 Cirencester Road after receiving a report that a silver Volkswagen Polo had veered off the road and struck a tree next to Dobbies Garden Centre.
A passenger in the vehicle, a man in his 60s from Cheltenham, was declared dead at the spot after suffering severe injuries.
A Gloucestershire police spokeswoman stated that a man and woman who were also in the car were still in critical condition at Bristol’s Southmead Hospital as of today, Tuesday, February 11.
Both are aged in their 80s and were taken to the hospital following the incident.
The next of kin of the man in his 60s are aware of his death and were being supported by a specially-trained officer.
Five ambulances and two air ambulances, run by Great Western and Midlands air ambulance services, were sent to the scene.

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 10.34am on February 5 to an incident near Cirencester.
“We sent five double-crewed land ambulances, two air ambulances, an operations officer and a tactical commander to the scene, and we conveyed two patients to Southmead Hospital.”
A spokesperson for Great Western Air Ambulance said: “Our crew were tasked to an incident in Siddington, Cirencester, at 10.34am on February 5.
“They responded by helicopter with two critical-care doctors and a specialist paramedic on board.
“They treated the patient at the scene and ground-escorted them to hospital.”
Road closures were put in place while a collision investigation took place and were removed on the evening of February 5.
Investigating officers from Gloucestershire police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision and has not already spoken to police, or anyone who has dashcam footage they feel may be relevant.
