Medical Booked Portsmouth agree signing Sheffield Wednesday fans ace

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Portsmouth has won the race to recruit Australian striker Thomas Waddingham from Brisbane Roar after reaching an agreement on the parameters of a contract.

Prior to finalising his transfer to Fratton Park, the 19-year-old is scheduled to go to the UK this week for a medical examination on Friday.

On January 8, Football Insider reported that Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday had made approaches for teenage sensation Waddingham.

The competition to bring the striker to England during the January transfer window has now been won by Portsmouth.

For a struggling Brisbane team this season, Waddingham has scored four goals in 11 games.

After scoring seven goals in 23 games during the young player’s breakthrough season last season, his goal-scoring form has continued.

Waddingham’s Brisbane Roar contract was scheduled to expire in June 2026.
