Virginia’s Sussex County (WAVY) A fatality was reported from a single-vehicle incident in Sussex County early on Tuesday morning.
On September 16, at 4:15 a.m., Virginia State Police were dispatched to the area of Route 40, close to Lobb Shop Road.
A 2005 Cadillac Escalade was heading east on Route 40 when it drove off the road, overturned multiple times, and collided with a tree, according to the investigation.
The driver of the car was Waverly resident Jarrell R. Thomas, 34, according to state police. At the scene, he passed away.
A female traveler who had potentially fatal injuries was transported to VCU Medical Center.
Investigations into the crash are still ongoing.
