According to the RCMP, one man was murdered and another was hospitalised in a head-on collision that occurred on Friday between a car and a gravel truck on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Clarenville, N.L.
According to police, the collision occurred on Friday afternoon, approximately six kilometres west of Clarenville, just before 1:45 p.m. NT.
According to a news release from the RCMP, the 53-year-old man who was driving the automobile was thrown out by the force of the accident and passed away at the scene.
The truck driver was sent to the Clarenville hospital after suffering minor injuries.
According to the RCMP, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is assisting in the ongoing investigation.
