Police Arrest Suspect in New Rochelle Train Station Sexual Assault

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Rudy Osbaldo Garril-Lopez, a 20-year-old guy from New Rochelle, has been taken into custody in relation to a sexual assault that occurred at the New Rochelle Train Station. The incident happened on March 9, 2024, in the evening, and local law enforcement responded right away.

An 18-year-old female victim claimed to the New New Rochelle Department that she was harassed by four Hispanic males when she was crossing the pedestrian bridge from Station Plaza to Burling Lane. Before the gang left the area, one of the attackers forced his hand down the back of her trousers during the incident.

Detectives found Garril-Lopez to be a suspect after conducting an investigation, and they took him into custody early on March 10, 2024. He is accused of the sexual assault, in addition to an outstanding warrant for a domestic assault case dating back to 2022.
