The 81-year-old man was struck by a white Vauxhall Insignia in Newbury when he was walking with a woman in her 70s and a dog.
The automobile was heading east when it crashed on Wednesday at around 11 a.m. on the A4 London Road near the intersection with Newport Road.
Due of her severe injuries, the woman is still in the hospital. Despite suffering injuries in the crash, the dog lived.
“I am appealing to anybody who witnessed the collision or may have been driving in the area and has dash-cam footage of the incident to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police,” Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit investigating officer PC Ian Baldwin said.
“You can do so by making a report online or by calling 101, quoting reference 43230479815.
“The man’s next of kin have been notified and are being supported by officers. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this extremely difficult time.”
