police statement after Gillingham Murder as two arrested after man found dead

After what appeared to be an argument, a guy was fatally stabbed.

The deadly event that happened yesterday afternoon on Fox Street in Gillingham has detectives on the scene.
Officials have now verified that around 1.10 pm, emergency services were sent to the road near the High Street, where a 35-year-old male was pronounced dead.
Later today, a post-mortem examination is scheduled.
A spokesperson for the police department stated: “He had suffered injuries consistent with being stabbed after reportedly being involved in an argument in the street with another man.”

Police are searching the area in an effort to find any firearms that may have been dropped.

Nobody has been arrested as of yet.

Yesterday, a cordon was in place whilst officers dealt with the incident, and an air ambulance landed in a nearby park.

The police cordon was lifted around 1am.

A man living in the road, who did not want to be named, said: “Police were taking witness statements nearer the scene.

“The street is very busy during that time of the day.”
