“Pushing £20m” – Sheffield United: Transfer claim made

FLW’s Sheffield United fan pundit highlights highest-value players in Chris Wilder’s squad

The ‘Terrace Talk’ series from Football League World features the views of our FLW Fan Pundits on a variety of topics, including teams, players, managers, potential signings, breaking news, and more.

After finishing in 20th position in the Premier League the previous season, Sheffield United is getting ready to return to the Championship.

In the transfer window, Chris Wilder will be looking to bolster the team in anticipation of a possible bid for promotion in the coming season.

But after losing a division, the Blades might now have to worry about prospective player sales.

The Yorkshire team may need to sell some valuable assets in order to preserve as much of their current roster as possible.

Building a team that can compete for a top two berth this season will need the club to work hard this summer.

Ollie Arblaster and Anel Ahmedhodzic valuation claim

Anel Ahmedhodzic and Ollie Arblaster, according to Sheffield United supporter Owain Wyse of FLW, are the players most likely to command a high price this summer.

He values Ahmedhodzic at a maximum of £20 million, drawing comparisons between Arblaster and players like Alex Scott and Adam Wharton, who both sold for comparable prices in recent transfer windows.

According to Wyse, “I think Anel Ahmedhodzic would command the biggest fee,” Football League World reported.

“Anel demonstrated his ability to compete at a championship level last year, and he has occasionally performed well.

“At just 25 years old, he is a full regular international with immense potential and talent.”

“He’s had a vast array of supposed interest in clubs, including regularly from Serie A in Napoli and Atalanta.

“I think he could command a bit of a bidding war in the summer, I could see us pushing £20m, or maybe even slightly beyond.

Ollie Arblaster is another player I would bring up in this context.

“I believe he has a lot of potential.

“Given how many games he’s played, I don’t think anyone will bid more than £20 million for him right now.

However, I think he should be worth a little bit more to us.

“We really can form a team around him, and I see him playing for us for a long time.”

“If he plays regular football for a few years, I think he could be worth up to £30 million.”

“You see players like Wharton and Alex Scott go for £20 million, and I believe that bids could come in even in January, half a season into the Championship football season.”
