Reasons why Wolves must make £15m transfer swoop for the hot-shot who has been out-scoring Mbappe and Kane

Ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window, Wolves’ Gary O’Neil has acknowledged concerns about the depth of the team.Sasa Kalajdzic, who came on as a substitute and saved the day for Wolves against AFC Bournemouth 2-1, deserves to be commended. For the second time this season, the Austrian striker was the star of the show in the closing minutes, helping Gary O’Neil’s team move seven points clear of the relegation zone.Within two minutes of the resumption, Matheus Cunha, who had begun forward, was also on the scoreboard. Pedro Neto was unlucky not to score two goals in the match after his left-footed effort hit the crossbar in the first minute.

Only seven of the 21 shots that were attempted at the Vitality Stadium found the back of the net, and Kalajdzic’s first opportunity to score came from a mistake made by Bournemouth’s custodian, Neto. It might sound harsh, but Wolves still don’t have a true striker.

A few supporters offered their opinions on the impending transfer window during Birmingham.live’s broadcast of O’Neil’s words on Saturday. Others were inspired by O’Neil’s candour about the circumstances, while some expressed worries about losing Pedro Neto.

One commenter stated: “At the moment, our bench lacks both skill and experience. New Year’s resolutions need to be made about it. Though no one else was available, Matt Doherty shouldn’t have played yesterday. As the season goes on, that will be a major disadvantage since it is not good enough for the Premier League.”

That is the reason I would like to see another backup for Kalajdzic, considering his appalling history of injuries. We don’t want to be down to Silva as our sole viable striker in the middle of the season. What’s required is depth of strength.”

Of course, views abound in the game of football. The Wolves recruitment team might not prioritise what some people think they should in January. Details of a potential deal, though, could persuade O’Neil and Jeff Shi to acquire a new striker.

]Serhou Guirassy of Stuttgart is the hottest nine in European football right now. The 27-year-old has already outscored players like Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, and Harry Kane with 15 goals in nine games this season, including eight goals from his first eight attempts on goal.

Sky Germany now claims that a release clause of €17.5 million (£15.2 million) will go into effect in January and last until the summer window of the following year. The striker does not intend to leave the Bundesliga team in January, according to the Florian Plettenberg report, but it is hard to turn down the Premier League.

A move for the Guinea international would be a significant declaration of purpose for Wolves, even though there are no obvious connections to Guirassy. He is undoubtedly a goal scorer, which is what fans adore.

For Wolves, for £15.2 million, the signing isn’t as big of a chance as it would be for one of the best teams in Europe. Spending more on players like Ivan Toney or Victor Osimhen means teams like Arsenal and Chelsea can afford to let players like Guirassay go unpaid.

Supporters will almost definitely get excited about the possibility of Pedro Neto, Guirassy, and Hwang in a front three. It remains to be seen what the striker’s circumstances will be when 2024 officially begins.
