Following a pedestrian’s death in a collision with a car close to Bristol’s Ashton Gate, police are requesting witnesses.
Tuesday at approximately 17:30 BST, Avon and Somerset Police were summoned to the accident on the A370 Brunel Way.
The female pedestrian was brought to the hospital but passed away from her wounds.
A sixty-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of using narcotics to make her unfit to drive. She has been freed while an inquiry is ongoing and more questions are needed.
After being closed to vehicles heading into Bristol, the route was reopened at around 21:00 BST.
The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being helped by a specially-trained family liaison officer.
The police are asking for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the accident, or have dashcam footage, to get in contact.
