Rotherham commentator blasts ‘toothless’ West Brom

Rotherham’s iFollow commentator Matt Goodwin called West Brom “toothless” after they scored their second goal of the game in their 2-0 win at the New Yorks Stadium on Tuesday night.

Grady Diangana had given the Albion the lead earlier, but Jed Wallace came off the bench to curl in a stunning free-kick from the edge of the penalty in the ninetieth minute.

The game wasn’t the best in South Yorkshire, and although the Baggies weren’t playing well, the Rotherham commentary seemed a little bit narcissistic.

Goodwin exclaimed, “Mowatt’s going to leave it for Wallace… What a free-kick that is,” as Wallace’s attempt found the back of the net in the ninetieth minute. “Game over, 2-0, off the bar.

“It’s been a terrible football evening; disregard if you’re a purist. It has been quite the spectacle.

Additionally, if you’re a Miller, the long winter nights will seem even longer. The Millers are bottom of the league with two goals remaining, while a toothless West Bromwich Albion team is up two goals.

Even though we acknowledge that the first half of the match wasn’t the best to watch, it seems a little harsh to label a team as “toothless” after they’ve just scored their second goal against you.

In the end, West Brom emerged as the superior team.

After Diangana’s well-executed goal, Wallace struck a fantastic free kick.

While Albion didn’t take many chances away from their goals, Rotherham did have a few wasted opportunities, and they still managed to score with two of their six attempts on goal [BBC Sport].

Carlos Corberan’s men were, if anything, clinical.

However, if West Brom hopes to be a serious contender for promotion, they will have to improve significantly.

We played horribly against Sunderland last week, perhaps our worst game of the year, and against Leicester, a late defensive error cost us a fantastic point.

We’re a little behind schedule right now, and it wouldn’t be a good idea to catch up before the hectic holiday season.

In other West Brom news, this Albion “revelation” stunned Bomber Brown during the victory at Rotherham.
