Sources: Crystal Palace plot multiple signings in January window as new plan revealed:

Crystal Palace are ready to make up to three new signings in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Selhurst Park outfit will be active in the new year.

Roy Hodgson has had to contend with several key injuries so far in the 2023-24 campaign, with Cheick Doucoure‘s Achilles problem the most serious of those problems.

As such, the 76-year-old wants the go-ahead to bring in a new defensive midfielder in the January transfer window.

It is believed a new striker and cover in the full-back areas are also priorities for Palace as the new year approaches.

However, the Croydon outfit are not big spenders and a well-placed source has revealed those signings are likely to be young players with first-team potential.

Palace feel they have the ability to attract top talents to Selhurst Park in January after building a nine-point buffer to the Premier League’s bottom three after 18 games.

Doucoure, Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise, Rob Holding and Odsonne Edouard are among the key stars to miss significant action so far in the 2023-24 campaign.

Nevertheless, Hodgson’s side sit 15th in the table as the halfway point in the season approaches.

Palace were promoted to the Premier League in 2013 and have not finished lower than 15th since then – but are yet to record a top-half finish in that time.

The Eagles drew 1-1 at home against rivals Brighton on Thursday (21 December) and are next in action against Chelsea on 27 December.
