The veteran quarterback will be looking for a new home as the New York Jets have confirmed that they will be moving away from Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. Bryant McFadden, the two-time Super Bowl champion, thinks the Pittsburgh Steelers should stick with Justin Fields instead of pursuing Rodgers.
During his appearance on Thursday’s episode of the Zach Gelb Show, McFadden offered his opinions on the matter.
McFadden stated, “I try to keep Justin Fields in a Steelers uniform if I’m Pittsburgh.” Russell Wilson will likely be more expensive than Justin Fields. When he is in the lineup, he gives an offence that is lacking in playmakers another playmaker. George Pickens was their only offensive playmaker a year ago. You didn’t have any playmakers when George wasn’t playing.
According to what we seen of Aaron Rodgers in New York, he offers you nothing if the pocket isn’t there. It’s true that Justin Fields may make you miss him.
In 2024, Fields completed 106 of 161 passes for 1,106 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception. McFadden thinks that because he is only 25, he has potential that veteran quarterbacks like Wilson and Rodgers do not have.
Fields would be a wise choice for the future, but the Steelers must make a decision.

After two seasons, Aaron Rodgers’ tenure with the New York Jets is over. The decision to fire Rodgers was taken after Aaron Glenn, the recently hired head coach, arrived in New York.
Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey told NewYorkJets.com, “We met with Aaron last week and shared that our intention was to move in a different direction at quarterback.” “It was crucial that we have this conversation now in order to bring clarity and give us all the time to make plans for our individual futures.
“We wish him continued success and want to thank him for his leadership, passion, and dedication to the organisation.”
When Rodgers first arrived in New York, he was hopeful, but things did not work out as planned.
“For a team like this with a legendary franchise, there’s something special about playing in the city,” Rodgers stated. “Being a part of something special, all the way back to Super Bowl III, would undoubtedly help you go down in our organization’s history.” I’ve worked for a very recognisable company for eighteen years, and it would be exciting to contribute to its history as well.
