PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Darnell Washington is a massive human being. While seeing him on TV shows just how big he is, once you see him in person, it hits you. Washington was listed at 6-foot-7, 264 pounds, which is his weight from the NFL Combine last year.
However, it has become increasingly clear over the past year that Washington is no longer near that weight, with multiple players hinting he is bigger. So, just how big is Washington?
Steelers tight end coach Alfredo Roberts says that Washington is 6-foot-7. and 300-plus pounds on Wednesday.
“It‘s hard to turn down his physicality as a big. blocking man,” Roberts said. “You can‘t turn your eye from that. And then he gives you the added dimension because he is athletic. You can‘t expect a guy, he‘s 6-foot-7, 300-plus (pounds), uh oh, I said that out loud. He’s a big man.”
