Tammy Abraham answer call as player want return to City

“The obvious pick is Tammy Abraham, because even when he played for us all those years ago he was unbelievable,” remarked FLW’s Bristol City fan analyst Tom Sandy when asked which past player he would like to see again at Ashton Gate.

“The chances we create now but fail to put away are ones we would if we had him, and we’d easily be in the play-offs.”

“His positioning is fantastic, he’s fast, he can get in behind, he’s a finisher, he’s a poacher, and he’s brilliant on the ball,” Sandy continued when discussing some of the qualities he may contribute to the team. There’s no way to describe him other than world-class!

Regarding location and the ball, Abraham is capable of doing anything Nahki Wells does. In the same way, he can finish and is a step better than our current forward, Sinclair Armstrong, who is arguably our most exciting player.

“With Scott Twine, Max Bird and Yu Hirakawa putting balls into the box, he would put away so many chances.”

Tammy Abraham would be the difference maker for Bristol City

Given that Abraham was outstanding for Bristol City in the 2016–17 campaign, it’s hard to disagree with Tom on this point.

Abraham has had a fantastic career since leaving Ashton Gate, and while players like Wells, Armstrong, and Fally Mayulu have tremendous qualities, none of them compare.

He scored an incredible 15 goals in his debut Premier League season with Chelsea, then he scored 27 goals in 53 games after joining Roma.

Unfortunately, since 2022, he has struggled to make an impact and is currently on loan at AC Milan from I Giallorossi.

In an alternate universe, though, his goal totals would be incredible if he was still playing for Bristol City in the second division.

FotMob reports that Manning’s team has missed 19 of their 31 huge chances this season, indicating that they need to work on their finishing. You believe the Robins would have scored more than 20 goals in 15 games if the AC Milan striker had been given these opportunities rather than the current crop.

In theory, he would be the difference maker if he could make it to Ashton Gate tomorrow, as every Championship team would be scrambling to locate a goal scorer with his calibre.

He has now, however, much surpassed the second-tier level, and it is unlikely that he would return back the Championship to the end of his playing days.
