The Lions announce decision on Ennis Rakestraw

On Thursday afternoon, the Detroit Lions declared that rookie cornerback Ennis Rakestraw had been formally placed back on injured reserve. Rakestraw is now able to rejoin the active roster after missing Week 12 because of a hamstring issue.

Rakestraw has participated in eight games this season and recorded six total tackles after being chosen by the Lions in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The move allows the talented rookie to contribute to the Lions’ defence as they enter the postseason, since head coach Dan Campbell had already stated that he was close to returning.

The Lions are hoping that Rakestraw’s comeback will strengthen their secondary as they get ready for the postseason, as he is almost fully recovered.
