Although Terrell May of the Sydney Roosters may have dropped out of the running to sign with the Canterbury Bulldogs, it doesn’t mean he will definitely stay at Bondi.

From the beginning of his next contract, when the team also signs his brothers Taylan and Tyrone, the Roosters prop has made it very clear that he will sign anywhere.

The May brothers want to play together starting in 2025, but as of right now, it’s unclear if any team in the competition wants to sign them as a package deal.

Since Joseph Manu’s rumoured move to French rugby looks all but certain, the Roosters are reportedly keen to keep Terrell and may now try to sign Taylan as well.

Nevertheless, the young prop, who had a breakout 2023 and was crucial to the Roosters’ success, especially in the finals, has recently signed with new management. News Corp reports that David Rawlings, his new manager, has contacted the St. George Illawarra Dragons and the Cronulla Sharks to see if they are interested in the strong young player.

The Canterbury Bulldogs had expressed interest as well, but this week they abandoned the process because it was going too slowly.

Given that Addin Fonua-Blake has already committed to the New Zealand Warriors through the 2025 season and beyond, the Sharks would seem to be an unlikely destination for May; however, the Dragons could be a likely new home.

In an attempt to rebuild his new signing, Shane Flanagan has made numerous plays for players who are not under contract, but so far, not many of them have been fruitful.

The need for new stocks in the forwards has been well established, though, given the Red V chased Addin Fonua-Blake, made a shock play for Jason Taumalolo and are believed to be going after Heilum Luki and Kulikefu Finefuiaki.

It’s believed the Roosters will still have the first opportunity to retain May’s services heading into 2025.
