Tony Mowbray set to sign Barcelona wonder striker lately….

Currently playing for Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in his home country of South Korea, the former Barcelona B midfielder is expected to relocate to England.

According to HITC, Tony Mowbray attempted to sign Paik last summer while managing Sunderland, and he has since returned to finalize a deal.

It’s believed that Birmingham has defeated other bids from throughout Europe to secure Paik, and an agreement is about to happen.

Who is Paik Seung-ho, the target for Birmingham City?

Paik, a native of Seoul, South Korea, gained recognition as a player for the Seoul Daedong Elementary School and was later selected for the Suwon Samsung Bluewings.

Paik didn’t stay long, though, since at the age of 13, he was awarded a fantastic move to Barcelona, which is when everything started to go awry.

The midfielder was among several players barred from competition as a result of Barcelona’s violation of transfer rules; he was prohibited from representing Barca for a period of three years.

Understandably, that circumstance caused Paik to regress; he only made two appearances for Barcelona B prior to joining Girona’s reserve squad, Peralada, in 2017.

Before moving to German team Darmstadt in 2019, Paik made just six appearances for the Girona first team. There, he established himself as a first-team regular with 45 appearances.

Despite this, the 26-year-old made the decision to rejoin Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in South Korea when he returned in 2021.

With 106 games under his belt at Jeonbuk, Paik has amassed 11 goals and eight assists.

Paik, a versatile central midfielder who can also play in front of defense, gained notoriety in 2022 when he stunned Brazil in the World Cup in Qatar with a goal.

It appears that Mowbray is a huge fan of Paik and is now ready to move to Birmingham, where he hopes to have a significant impact on English football.
