Two pedestrians were involved in a crash outside a pub in Stockport,
Police were called to reports of the collision outside The Church Inn in Ravenoak Road at 4.30pm this afternoon (August 17). An air ambulance landed nearby shortly after, according to eyewitnesses, but it is unclear whether anyone was taken in the helicopter.
More than 10 emergency service vehicles were at the scene including eight police vehicles which remained after the ambulances left. A cordon has been put in place at the junction of Ravenoak Road, Ack Lane West and Church Road causing queuing traffic in the area.
The M.E.N. understands that the crash involved two pedestrians. However, the extent of the injuries caused is currently unclear.
Ravenoak Road, which connects Cheadle Hulme and Bramhall, is currently closed with traffic diverted onto surrounding streets. The 313 and 42B bus routes are being diverted due to the collision, according to operator Stagecoach which issued an update on social media.
In a post on X, Stagecoach said: “Route 313 Stockport bound services only. Due to an RTC near to the Church Inn in Cheadle Hulme our 313 service will divert by turning right onto Ack Lane West to Bramhall Village left onto Bramhall Ln Sth to Garners Ln to Adswood Rd resume normal route.”
In another post, the operator added: “Route 42B. Due to a RTC at the Church Inn Cheadle Hulme, services are diverted both ways via Schools Hill, A34 Bypass and Stanley Rd. The following roads will not be served: Albert Rd, Station Rd, Ravenoak Rd, Church Rd, Gilbent Rd. We are sorry if this affects your journey.”
