Proctor missed the conclusion of the season owing to a suspension, and shortly after, the club announced his departure.
This fueled suspicion that he would retire, but like many before him, Proctor finally made the transition to the Elite One Championships.
Proctor, like James Maloney, James Segeyaro, Corey Norman, and Dean Whare, has moved to France, joining Carcassonne in the middle of the 2023/24 season.
Proctor was supposed to relocate to France last week and make his debut, but the move was pushed back.
However, Proctor arrived at the club this week, in time to make his debut against the Albi Tigers in a top-of-the-table showdown.
Proctor started on the bench for his new club and entered a tough struggle in which his new club lost 32-30 at home to Albi, according to Treize Mondial.
Wakefield Trinity sign Proctor replacement
Wakefield Trinity has recently announced the signing of New Zealand forward, Isaiah Vagana, on a 2-year deal. The club has acted quickly to benefit from the changes to visa requirements, allowing UK clubs to acquire exceptional young overseas talent.
Isaiah, aged 23, certainly has the right pedigree, being the son of the legendary Joe Vagana, the Bradford Bulls and New Zealand International prop forward. He stands tall at 6’3” and weighs over 16 stones.
He has progressed through the New Zealand Warriors squad since 2020 and has recently been on the fringes of his NRL debut. His career started at the Mount Albert Lions junior club in NZ, and he represented the Junior Kiwis International team in 2019. Last season, he played 24 games for the Warriors in their NSW cup side at both prop and back row.
Vagana will wear the squad number 19 shirt for Trinity in 2024, joining an increasingly potent forward group. Wakefield Trinity will undoubtedly have an entertaining and successful season as they aim to win the Championship and return to the Super League on their first attempt.
