West Ham owners make David Moyes decision

One reporter claims that the owners of West Ham United have a clear strategy in place for manager David Moyes.

Although David Moyes has been the manager of West Ham for over four years, there are persistent whispers that he might be fired. Michael Carrick is one name that has been mentioned as a possible successor for the Scot.

After leading us to our first major title in forty-three years the previous season, the Hammers manager is reportedly in danger of losing his job at the London Stadium due to a dismal few months this season.

But victories against Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest back-to-back significantly relieved Moyes’s burden.but how much longer?

The 60-year-old will surely be feeling the spotlight once more if West Ham has another hot streak.

When it comes to his chances of staying at the London Stadium for an extended period of time, Moyes merely seems to be up against the losing side all the time.

David Moyes makes a choice for West Ham’s owners.
It appears that the Scot will leave the Hammers in the summer of 2024; this was originally scheduled for this past summer, but the owners were compelled to make a dramatic 180-degree reversal.

Journalist Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail revealed on the It’s All Coming Up podcast that Moyes is only still at the London Stadium due of the Europa Conference League victory from the previous season:

“I believe he will be leaving. He’s leaving at the conclusion of this season, based on all we know. I believe there was a plan to go on for him to accomplish that in the summer after the previous season, but the Conference League’s victory and their own victory turned things around a little. After your head coach has just won you your first trophy in decades, how can you allow him to leave? David Moyes is well deserving of praise for changing that storyline in the previous season.

The issue with this strategy is what would happen if Moyes leads us to victory in the Europa League? Or what happens if we’re the FA Cup or Carabao Cup winners?

There’s little question that he’ll get another contract offer. I think it’s obvious to everybody that the West Ham owners need to replace David Moyes with a youthful, innovative manager if they truly want to move this team forward.

That was undoubtedly the strategy last season, but the Scot’s leadership in leading us to European success made the club’s owners quickly revers their course.

Though it’s unclear what will happen in the summer, all the sounds emanating from London Stadium point to Moyes being gone by then—that is, unless he manages to pull another rabbit out of his hat.
