West Ham Star Take Over As TalkSPORT pundit compares Lucas

After seeing what Lucas Paqueta performed against Freiburg on Thursday, October 5th, Scott Minto was so impressed that he likened the West Ham midfielder to Alan Shearer.

The commentator described the Brazilian international’s goal in the 2-1 triumph over the Bundesliga team as a “Alan Shearer-type header” while co-commentating for talkSPORT live.

He added that it is “amazing” to see the 26-year-old midfielder score like that in the air given “how talented” he is with the ball on the ground.

“I tell you what, one, that was a delicious ball, right foot, he’s out wide, he didn’t even go past the defender,” said Minto. Although Lucas Paqueta barely had a half-yard to work with, his header was fantastic.

“It reminded me of Mark Hateley from back in the day and headers in the style of Alan Shearer. He leaps over two defenders, and with such force and precision that the goalkeeper has no chance at all, he shoots it.

He is a talented player with the ball on the ground in addition to hi

s proficiency with the ball in the air. Simply told, the Hammers are off to a great start.

Minto’s comparison of Paqueta to one of the greatest forwards to play in England and the Premier League’s top scorer is undoubtedly high praise.

But the midfielder’s goal, which gave West Ham the lead, was exceptional. He soared high off the ground and sent a powerful header beyond the goalkeeper.

The Brazilian, along with the other players for the Hammers, put on yet another outstanding display to open this season.

He has played a key role in the Irons’ fantastic start to the season, both at home and abroad in the first few games.

His many further flashes of brilliance will be eagerly anticipated by the audience as we strive for another outstanding season.
