Wolves will be without three players…

Newcastle United return to Premier League action on Sunday

Despite not having the best start to the season, Newcastle United has won all three of their Premier League games and is now sitting just outside of the top four on goal differential.

After three Premier League games, the Magpies have won two and lost one, but most Tyneside residents believe Eddie Howe’s team still has more to offer. Although playing in the Europa League or Europa Conference League wouldn’t be seen as a failure following a dismal summer transfer window, Newcastle will be looking to bring Champions League football back to Tyneside after losing out on European competition the previous season.

Following the international break, the Toon will play Wolves in their Premier League return. Having not won at Molineux Stadium since the 2016–17 Championship season, when an Aleksandar Mitrovic goal sealed the three points, the Magpies do not have the best record there.
In addition, the Toon have only dropped a game in their previous ten games. Prior to the match, Gary O’Neil’s team has a number of injury worries and has not won in the Premier League this season.
Due to an ACL injury from last season, Sasa Kalajdzic will miss the match against the Magpies, and Enso Gonzalez Medina will miss the match against Newcastle as well.

Boubacar Traore will also miss the game against Howe’s side after picking up an injury to his left knee in Wolves’ Carabao Cup win over Burnley at the end of August.
