The suspect is being questioned on an accident that occurred throughout the summer.
Gardaí investigating a tragic traffic incident in County Louth earlier this year have detained a lady.
Arthur Daly, 64, from The Salting, Annagassan, County Louth died at the site of the collision which occured close to the village of Dunleer – midway between Dundalk and Drogheda – soon before 9am on July 14.
The father of two grown children, who was originally from Howth in County Dublin, was the driver of one of the two cars which collided with one other.
Many individuals praised Arthur as a “great sportsman” and a “true gent” during the time of the tributes.
The driver of the second vehicle, a woman in her 50s, was evacuated from the site to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin after the collision, according to gardai, where she received treatment for severe injuries.
A woman has been taken into custody and is being questioned regarding the collision, according to a Monday morning update from the Gardai.
“A woman has been taken into custody by the Gardaí in connection with their investigation into a tragic traffic accident that happened on Sunday, July 14, 2024, in Dunleer, County Louth. According to a spokeswoman, the woman, who is in her 50s, is being held at a garda station in County Louth under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
