Big hit Ky Rodwell commits further to Wakefield Trinity

After breezing into Wakefield to prove an instant hit with supporters in producing a string of outstanding performances strong running forward Ky Rodwell has delighted fans further by signing a swift extension to his contract at Belle Vue.

Australian Rodwell has signed an upgraded four-year deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2028 season.

The deal brings Rodwell in line with recent signings Tom Johnstone and Mike McMeeken in committing his long term future with the club.

The 24-year-old Rodwell has taken no time to impress since making his debut against Featherstone Rovers in the Championship.

Although his initial contract was only for two years, ending at the end of 2025, the team moved swiftly to guarantee his future at Wakefield.

“I’ve loved my time at the club so far, and I want to be a part of that success,” the man stated.”I want to get better at everything I do in my game, and the club is the ideal environment for me to be because of that.

“The supporters are incredible; having performed in Australian stadiums previously, nothing matches these supporters when we’re at home.

“I’m eager to put myself to the test next year—ideally against the best players in the nation in the Super League.”Daryl Powell, the head coach of Trinity, stated: “Ky has been nothing short of extraordinary since joining the team. He plays with the same professionalism that permeates everything he does, and his honesty never wavers throughout the day.

“He is an incredible asset to the team and a true Super League player. In the upcoming years, I’m excited to collaborate with him to help him become the greatest player he can be.

“Ky has been phenomenal since his arrival in the UK; from day one we could see how much of an influential player and person he would be within our environment,” said Steven Mills, recruitment manager at Trinity.

“Keeping talented individuals at Wakefield Trinity is our top goal, and Ky’s retention is the first step in that direction.”We’re all excited to watch Ky grow over the next few years and assume a leadership role within our club.”
