Wakefield Trinity agrees deal with Bradford Bulls

Although the BRADFORD Bulls haven’t quite made it there yet, they appear like a solid wager to advance to the play-offs after getting back on track in the Betfred Championship with an 18-4 victory at Doncaster last Sunday.

Wakefield Trinity is the clear favourite to win the Grand Final, even without their most recent addition—a Bradford native who joined in an unexpected trade. Wakefield Trinity is already assured to finish first in the league.

Born in the city, Jake Trueman rose through the ranks at West Bowling and Bulls. He recently signed a three-and-a-half-year contract to join Wakefield from Super League side Hull F.C.

If the “half” seems out of the ordinary, it’s because the deal was finalised earlier this month, even though it wasn’t officially announced until now.

Hull, who had a disappointing season and will not be making it to the Super League play-offs, has also decided to let Trueman go following their last game on September 21.

This implies that he will be eligible to participate in Wakefield’s last league game, which is scheduled for September 29 at home against Doncaster. He will also probably be a vital member of the team that aims to win the Championship Grand Final.

Trueman, who was born in Bradford, is still only 25 years old. He joined the Castleford Tigers at the age of 17 after making just one senior appearance for Bulls.

After playing in more than 100 games for Cas, he was crowned the 2018 Super League Young Player of the Year.

Trueman participated in the team’s 2021 Challenge Cup final loss to St Helens as well. At the conclusion of the subsequent campaign, he left to play for Hull, where he has made 26 appearances.
