‘Force me to make a decision’ is Ismael’s challenge’

With the exception of the injured Jeremy Ngakia, the Hornets have full availability, and with the same collection of players to choose from ahead of Preston, could Louza miss out again?

“It’s about the players’ performances and merit.” “Everyone has done well, and we have high expectations for every player,” said head coach Valerien Ismael.

“This is how we’re going to deal with the squad this season.” Jake Livermore and Edo Kayembe were both absent at the start of the season. That doesn’t mean you’re completely out of the picture.

“We anticipate a reaction. We expect our players to always fight back and compel me and my staff to make a choice.”

With the January transfer market opening in less than two weeks, might Louza be one of the players to leave?

“It’s too early to speak about that as we have important games coming up,” Ismael stated with a laugh.

“Every squad has the same problem. When gamers do not play, they are dissatisfied and seek a remedy.

“But for now the focus is on us, the Championship and the games we will face.”

The encounter at Deepdale is Watford’s third in a week, and the Hornets only made one change from the squad that drew with Southampton on Tuesday night, with Livermore replacing Francisco Sierralta.

“The game will always dictate changes,” Ismael stated.

“We’ve played two games this week and now have a third, and we need to assess the players’ readiness and freshness.”

“We’re working very closely with the medical department and then we take our decisions.”

Having not been as clinical as they could have been against Ipswich, the Watford forward options come into focus again and particularly Rhys Healey who is still to play more than 25 minutes in a game in the Championship.

“We have tried to find the right solution for the team and for what we want,” said the Watford boss.

“I think so far we have a good solution with Rhys with two strikers, or by playing him just behind a striker.

“We know that is more suitable, but we also know he is capable of playing that No.9 position.

“We performed well again on Tuesday, and the squad remains positive.”

“With the exception of Jeremy, we have no new problems; everyone trained in the last training session.”

“It’s clear that the disappointment from Tuesday’s result was there, but there was also belief, pride, and an understanding that we need to look forward to future games.”

“We just take each game one at a time and concentrate on ourselves and our performances.”

“The season is almost halfway through, and we now have a clear picture of what we need to work on.”

“It’s all about the details.” The final pass, poise, and more shots on target. Everything we have to accomplish.”
