Watford have lost their backroom staff member to the Premier League side. The Hornets will now need to hunt for a potential replacement.`
Dewar has spent the last two years playing for the Hornets. He oversaw the Championship outfit’s performance analysis staff.
He has chosen to leave Vicarage Road in search of a new challenge, though. He joins Gary O’Neil’s Wolves team, which is now 15th in the Premier League.
A Watford employee departs
Dewar, a graduate of the University of Leeds with a UEFA A license and fluency in French, started playing football. At first, he worked for Crystal Palace, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur’s youth programs.
He was subsequently hired by Watford in June 2021 as an analyst. Later on in his employment, he got involved as a scouting coordinator.
During his time in Hertfordshire, he worked under a variety of different managers, including Chris Wilder, Roy Hodgson, Rob Edwards, Slaven Bilic, and Claudio Ranieri.
After Wilder left at the end of the previous season, former West Brom and Barnsley manager Valerien Ismael was hired in the summer. After his first nine games, he was just given a new contract.
Ismael will now have to deal with Dewar’s departure, though. He departs from a Watford team that is currently sitting in 21st place in the league standings after scoring nine points thus far.
As they get ready for their forthcoming match against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light this evening, they sit one point above the relegation zone.
