Watford target offered four-year contract by Celtic

Rocco Vata, who Watford is reportedly targeting, has received an offer from Celtic for a new four-year deal, according to a Daily Record report. The winger’s contract with the Scottish Premiership champions expires at the end of the following month, and as things stand, Watford is expected to make a move for him.

According to the Daily Record, Vata, 18, has discussed a possible move across the border to the Championship with the Hornets. Italian teams like AC Milan, Bologna, Sampdoria, and Como are also interested. Citte Celeste has asserted that Lazio is one of their admirers.

According to the Daily Record, the Hoops have submitted some new terms in an attempt to keep him on board, marking their final attempt at a contract. They recently defeated rivals Rangers to reclaim the title.

Regarding their specific pursuit, Watford will have to wait and watch if Vatta decides to try his luck elsewhere or decides to put pen to paper with Celtic once more.

He seems to be receiving a lot of interest from Italy at the moment, so moving to a Serie A or Serie B squad would catch his eye.

However, a move to the Hornets would give him a platform to make a name for himself in England and work with former Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley.

Vata has progressed through the academy systems at Celtic and has been a member of the team during his entire career.

At different junior levels, he was a vital member of the Glasgow Giants, and in the Lowland League, he most recently made a name for himself as a regular for their B team, scoring 23 goals in 34 games.

Vata, a youth international for the Republic of Ireland, has also made six appearances for the starting lineup for the Hoops, contributing one goal.

Watford is anticipating a busy few months as they prepare for Cleverley’s first complete season in charge.

If the Herts club could ward off interest from overseas and get Vata’s signature, it would be a wise addition.

He has a bright future in the game because he is a very promising player. However, things are still unclear for him, and Celtic are trying to cling onto him.
