A referee is due to take charge of his fifth FA Cup fixture of the season when Watford take on Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium tonight.
Following the Championship teams’ 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road last month, the FA website has confirmed that Darren Bond will be the man in the middle for the fourth round rematch.
This season, the Lancashire official has overseen fifteen league and cup matches, comprising two Premier League games and four FA Cup fixtures, the most recent of which ended in a 1-1 draw between Coventry City and Sheffield Wednesday in the fourth round.
Timothy Wood and Bhupinder Singh Gill are scheduled to help Bond, who has totaled 68 yellow cards and two reds in those matches. Gavin Ward will serve as the fourth official.
In the fifth round on Wednesday, February 28, the winners of tonight’s rematch will play Premier League leaders Liverpool in a match that will be televised live on ITV1.
