With opening day close at hand, Watford High Street’s latest chicken shop has applied for planning permission.
Wingers – The Chicken Wing Company is due to open at 96 The Parade on Wednesday May 29.
Ahead of the launch, the company has sent drawings of the illuminated signs it is proposing to put up over the entrance to its latest unit, which was previously occupied by Take a Wok, to Watford Borough Council for consideration.
They show ‘Wingers’ written in aluminium letters lit by LEDs on a bright red background. A bar would then be mounted on the bottom of the main sign with lettering adding ‘The Chicken Wing Company’.
Planning documents also include interior designs, which suggest the restaurant will be able to seat 32 people.
Wingers has asked for separate licencing approval to allow late-night refreshment until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as the sale of alcohol for use on and off the premises from 12pm to 10.30pm every day.
Alcohol would only be available for purchase with food.
Amran and Dylan Sunner, along with their father Bill, founded the family-run chain, which originally opened in Lichfield in 2022.
It focuses in fried chicken, wings, sides, and milkshakes.
