Man in 20s dies after motorbike crash in Wath Upon Dearne

A man in his 20s has died following a road traffic collision, South Yorkshire Police has confirmed.
Tuesday, September 17, at 11:20 p.m., something happened on Manvers Way in Wath Upon Dearne.

It happened at the intersection of Cawood Drive and Manvers Way. A Honda motorcycle was being driven along Manvers Way, when a red Ford Fiesta pulled onto Manvers Way from Cawood Drive.

The rider, a man in his 20s, suffered severe injuries and was sent to the hospital; he subsequently passed away.
The eighteen-year-old driver of the Fiesta was detained on suspicion of drugged driving and then released while an investigation was conducted.

Any witnesses to the deadly collision are urged to come forward in order to assist South Yorkshire Police with their investigation.
