NZTA Waka news Due to an accident near Flightys Road, Kotahi State Highway 58 was closed late this afternoon between the Hutt Valley and Pāuatahanui.
Not long after 4:30 p.m., there was a car and motorbike crash that was reported. There were two major injuries.
The Police Serious Crash Unit and emergency services were present, and all traffic was blocked on the highway.
When driving between Pāuatahanui and the Hutt Valley, drivers were asked to steer clear of the area and take a different route.
It was anticipated that the highway would stay closed for a few hours as the collision was looked into.
Update 8:25 p.m.: Due to the serious crash that occurred late this afternoon, State Highway 58 is now open in both directions. The road was blocked from approximately 4:45 p.m. to 8:20 pm while the Police Serious Crash Unit investigated.
