West Brom gain ‘great boost Cedric Kipre ‘ from scan results as Carlos Corberan offers injury update for Coventry City game
Cedric Kipre’s scan results have given West Brom a “huge boost” because they indicate that he has not sustained any significant injuries to his knee, according to Carlos Corberan.
Lewis Cox of Express and Star tweeted on October 27 that the Baggies manager had disclosed the results of testing the night before, allaying concerns that the defender may miss months of play [Express & Star] following his injury during the team’s 2-0 victory against QPR on October 24.
Even if the 26-year-old could not be ready for Monday’s (30 October) match against Coventry City, it looks like a lengthy layoff has been averted.

“I just saw Carlos Corberan,” Cox wrote. After last night’s scan results, Cedric Kipre’s knee is not seriously injured. Monday still has some uncertainty. depends on how well pain is managed throughout weekend training.
Comfort
Even considering how bottom the Sky Blues are in the league, the journey to Coventry appears like it will be difficult with so many players sidelined, but Corberan can take some consolation from this.
Kipre, who was on loan at Cardiff City the previous season, has established himself as a mainstay in the West Brom starting lineup this year.
Fitness concerns are becoming a bigger issue as Semi Ajayi struggles as well as the several offensive players already on the injured list, including John Swift, Jeremy Sarmiento, Josh Maja, and Daryl Dike.
For a team that can hardly afford to lose too many more options, it appears like a major bullet was avoided if Kipre’s status is simply questionable for the next one or two games.
After several players left throughout the summer and with worries about takeovers continuing off the field, Corberan and his staff are facing a new set of challenges in addition to the injury crisis.
Nevertheless, as he keeps up his outstanding work at The Hawthorns, the Spaniard has the Baggies in the play-off spots after 13 games.
And it looks like he’ll have Kipre back sooner rather than later in a welcome piece of good news from the medical department as he seeks to continue the positive form.
