had the result of the weekend as they ended Preston North End’s perfect home record by thrashing them 4-0 at Deepdale in the best performance of their season so far.

With Preston unable to produce a comeback, Carlos Corberan’s team returned from the locker rooms and furthered their advantage through Matt Phillips and Kyle Bartley. West Brom’s unbeaten streak has now lasted four games as a result of the result, which saw them move up to eighth place and close to a play-off spot by just three points.

As a reward for their tremendous display against Preston, two players have earned their place in the Championship team of the week. The two inclusions are players that had their futures at The Hawthorn’s come in to question this summer but Saturday’s performance has gone a long way to proving it was the right decision to keep them at the club.
