West Brom stadium closure mooted at The Hawthorns after ‘Horrible’ scenes *

Dan Plumley has stated that a “Horrible” week at West Brom in February is reason enough to close The Hawthorns to football matches.

Crowd disturbances caused the FA Cup fourth-round match against Wolves to be halted for thirty minutes. Supporters were fighting in the stands where the players’ families were seated.

The football financial specialist acknowledged that games being discussed behind closed doors requires the government to impose the harshest penalties in order to put an end to it.

“It’s been a terrible week,” he disclosed to West Brom News in confidence.

“I don’t see any other way to proceed with some of this, where the authorities begin considering harsh penalties, possible stadium closures, games being played in secret, or whatever the harshest degree of punishment is.

“You have to realise that in order to prevent this from happening, and in the last few weeks, there have been numerous unpleasant occurrences involving English football spectators nationwide. You must put an end to it.

“It has to be that way to really make it a deterrent because, as we’ve seen, what we’re doing at the moment is not stopping it,” said the person who would only be deterred by the worst penalties.

There seems to be some uneasement in the West Brom supporters section regarding the reported racial taunts sent towards Juninho Bacuna during the week following the incident against Wolves.

Being associated with the club has become embarrassing at this stage, and harsh penalties are now imminent since these disturbing incidents just cannot be tolerated.

In unrelated West Brom news, a journalist describes how, following the Wolves controversy, Birmingham fans heightened tensions at the Hawthorns.
