David Moyes warns West Ham of “incredibly wrong decision

The Hammers boss wants Divin Mubama, the teenage striker who joined the club at eight years old, to sign a new deal after seeing several other young stars turn down contracts only to struggle at their next clubs

Divin Mubama is being advised by David Moyes to pledge his future to West Ham and steer clear of the blunders made by a number of young people who have pushed their way out of east London.

Because he wants to play frequently, 19-year-old striker Mubama is refusing to sign a contract with the team he joined when he was eight years old. However, Moyes feels he needs to exercise patience since there aren’t many players in the Premier League right now who are his age coming through.

Furthermore, according to the Hammers manager, Mubama, whose contract ends in the summer, would be worse off examining others who have “made incredibly wrong decisions” in comparable circumstances. During Moyes’ second stint as manager, Grady Diangana, Jeremy Ngakia, and Sonny Perkins have deserted the team, only to thus far fail to live up to their own expectations at new teams.

We adore Divin a lot. He’s a wonderful youngster, an East End boy who supports West Ham. We adore him dearly,” Moyes remarked. “I think Divin would be better off signing a contract with West Ham.” He has competition, but he’s still rather young. He’s doing quite well indeed. He’s getting more and more interested in England.

“We really enjoy him. I would give him more chances if I could. However, there aren’t many 19-year-old centre forwards competing in the Premier League.

“What is the current average age for being called up to the first team? It seems like 21 to me. Many of them are growing restless, but the main issue is that their agents want to remove them and get them games somewhere else.

“So many people are choosing poorly. There are still a few males here who have chosen quite poorly. This place is really conducive for them. We are a football team that is interested in signing young players.

A few people departed and committed grave errors. They may receive inaccurate information about what they are doing and the best course for their career if they are not cautious.

Moyes acknowledges that Jarrod Bowen, a winger, recently moved inside since West Ham struggled to find a striker in the summer. Additionally, as Danny Ings and Michail Antonio approach the end of their careers, a chance could present itself shortly.

In anticipation of tomorrow’s match against Nottingham Forest, Moyes stated, “We need Mich to score goals.” Antonio hasn’t hit the back of the net since August. He had a great start to the season, but we need him to score. You need such objectives if you want to be a No9.
