Jimmy Walker has slammed the tactics of David Moyes and says West Ham star Jarrod Bowen is being wasted as a striker.
Forget being bored to tears, West Ham fans were bored to jeers as they watched another drab performance in the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.
Despite the bad weather and additional rail strikes, over 60,000 spectators filled the London Stadium.
And many demonstrated their value for entertainment by jeering the Hammers off at full time, leaving David Moyes in no doubt.
Jimmy Walker criticises David Moyes’ methods
Nevertheless, not just West Ham fans get tired of what they watch.
The cult hero of One Hammers was also not holding back on social media.
Jimmy Walker, a critic of Moyes’ strategies, claims that Jarrod Bowen, a star striker for West Ham, is being wasted.
Walker, on X, attacked West Ham’s plodding play with some colourful language.
And he found it puzzling that Moyes continued to start Bowen up front despite the fact that he is among the top players in the Premier League off the right.
“Raise it and move the ball 10% faster, and you’ll win easily.”
“You do the maths: Kudus can play anywhere, but Bowen is a shadow of the player down the middle and among the best on the right.”
Walker’s analysis will resonate with West Ham supporters who endured yet another excruciatingly boring game.
Moving forward, there are no discernible patterns of play. “Give it to Mohammed Kudus or Lucas Paqueta and hope for the best” appears to be the current strategy.
When they have the small Bowen up front, West Ham is also starting to develop the annoying habit of going long.
And let’s not even discuss Moyes’ substitutions—or lack thereof—for West Ham supporters.
When West Ham visits fierce rivals Spurs in the middle of the week, things will need to significantly improve.
