The Portuguese manager pledged his future to the Cottagers by signing a new deal that runs until 2026, the club said on Tuesday, October 24 (Sky Sports).
It comes around three months after Sky reported terms had been offered with Silva apparently reluctant at the time to put to paper, though he did apparently turn down a lucrative deal to move to the Saudi Pro League.
But Silva’s name also cropped up in links to West Ham as a potential long-term replacement for Moyes at the London Stadium.
The Daily Mail reported on 9 May that Silva was high on the Hammers’ hierarchy’s shortlist to take over if Moyes had left the club in the summer.
The same report added that Silva had a £6million release clause, though it is unclear if that still exists or if a higher fee would now be required to break him from his contract.
Moyes’ immediate future at West Ham does not appear in imminent danger, though a run that has seen them take four points from the last 15 available has seen some doubts creep in, the 4-1 loss to Aston Villa last time out not helping.
But with the news that a top target has now decided to commit to three-year contract elsewhere means that West Ham may already have made their choice to stick with Moyes, who surely still has plenty of credit in the bank having engineered their memorable Europa Conference League triumph in Prague last season.
In other West Ham news, a Real Madrid player linked with the Hammers could be sold for £17million.
