West Ham United develop London Stadium

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United has decided not to sign Jesse Lingard this month in order to concentrate on January’s attacking objectives.

The UK tabloid site revealed on January 11 that the 31-year-old, who is a free agent after leaving Nottingham Forest over the summer, is causing anxiety at the London Stadium by spending so long without playing.

Following the confirmed injury blows to Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta on Tuesday (Roshane Thomas, 9 January), who will both be sidelined for at least a month, West Ham has been driven into the market for January signings.

Over the summer, Lingard trained with the East Londoners with the possibility of joining the team on a free transfer. However, West Ham has reiterated their stated disinterest in reuniting with the former Manchester United player.

Expensive

After this development at the London Stadium, Moyes will find himself in a difficult situation as three of his most important and influential attackers are now sidelined.

Given that Bowen will miss a month of action and that Paqueta and Antonio will now miss six weeks, Moyes faces a severe injury crisis at West Ham United. This can only mean that David Sullivan will need to spend heavily in order to support Moyes and Tim Steidten this month with fresh hires.

The Irons have already been connected to many attacking targets in the last week, including Leeds United winger Willy Gnonto, Ajax attacker Steven Bergwijn (HITC, 9 January), and Sunderland forward Jack Clarke.

The possibility of signing Lingard has now surfaced once more, but it is understandable that there are concerns about his fitness for action and ability to perform at the highest level. Additionally, his enormous wage demands could be prohibitively expensive and burden the Hammers’ payroll at a time when they are short staffed this month.

With their amazing standing in the league and advancement in the Europa League, West Ham United has been outstanding all season long. However, Moyes is now in a dangerous situation due to their injury crisis.

Moyes and Steidten need to now

begin strengthening the team, even if it’s just by setting up panic stations at London Stadium for the time being.

A player wants to leave West Ham amid a £30 million development, according to other Hammers news.
