Due to a “serious” collision that occurred early in the morning, a portion of a major motorway that runs through Wiltshire and Berkshire is still closed at rush hour.
The westbound lanes of the M4 have been blocked by police between Junction 14 near Hungerford and Junction 15 near Swindon.
A truck and an automobile collided this morning at around one in the morning, which is why the closure is in effect.
Wiltshire Police and Wiltshire Air Ambulance were among the emergency personnel who responded to the scene.
For more details, the emergency services have been notified.
To clean up a fuel leak, a National Highways area crew is also present.
There are signs telling cars to turn off the M4 at Junction 14 and onto the A338.
In a statement, National Highways provided instructions on how to get back on the M4: “At the A4 mini roundabout, turn right onto the A4 towards Hungerford, avoiding Hungerford town centre.
“Take the second exit into Charnham Park after a short distance to the next roundabout.
“Make a right onto the B4192 and proceed through Aldbourne for around 13 miles until you reach the A419 junction.
“Take the first exit and join the A419, continue to rejoin the M4 westbound at Junction 15.”
