Wests Tigers fans will have to wait for their first look at Lachlan Galvin, with the youngster ruled out of the club’s opening Pre-Season Challenge match.
Galvin was scheduled to play against the New Zealand Warriors, however the team announced that he will not be playing due to a calf injury he suffered during pregame training.
The five-eighth will return to Sydney and “will undergo scans on what is said to be only a minor strain,” but his exact comeback date is still unknown.
Iverson Matai, a gifted young halfback, will join the team in his place. Matai, a member of the NSW Cup extended roster, was brought in from the Bulldogs in the previous season. In 2023, he participated in the team’s SG Ball Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup.
