Everything we need to know after body of man in his 70s found in Winchester

On Monday, August 19, there was a heavy police presence in Garnier Road in Winchester at the junction with Old Morestead Road.

Officers put a cordon in place and it was later confirmed that a body had been found.

Yesterday, a police spokesman said: “We were called at 2.47pm today, 16 August, after the body of a man in his 70s was located on St Catherine’s Hill, Winchester. He has not been formally identified and next of kin have not yet been informed.

“Enquiries are ongoing, but at this time the death is not considered to be suspicious.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
